Luca Locatelli

Photographer and storyteller

Luca Locatelli is an environmental photographer and storyteller. He has won the World Press Photo Award twice, and the Leica Oskar Barnack Award. His work documents the problems relating to the use of natural resources and the future of urban settlements. He is a photographer for the National Geographic Magazine, but he often collaborates with international media such as the New York Times Magazine, TIME, The New Yorker, Bloomberg Businessweek and Geo Germany. His work has been exhibited in many locations. Luca is also a founding partner of a non-governmental organisation that helps to protect 600 thousand hectares of tropical forest in Amazonia.
